Electric Bike Specifications
Battery
Battery is the heart of any electric bike. Most electric bikes use Lithium-ion cells in the battery pack for their high energy density and long-life cycle. In Revolt’s electric bikes, LFP (Lithium-iron phosphate) cells are used instead of NMC. LFP cells are not prone to explosion, fire caused by external abuse, accidents, and heat. The pouch cells used in the batteries are thin, providing more surface area for heat dissipation, allowing them to operate at higher temperatures. EV batteries with LFP cells can safely be charged to 100%.
Electric Motor
The motor in an electric bike generates propulsion by converting electrical energy into mechanical energy, unlike ICE engines in petrol-powered motorcycles that require fuel to generate power. Electric two-wheelers typically use two types of motors: Hub motors and mid-drive motors. Hub motors are more affordable and best suited for flat terrain, while mid-drive motors, like those in Revolt electric bikes, are more premium, require a stronger frame, and have excellent climbing abilities for all types of terrains.
Controller
If the battery is the heart of an electric bike, then the controller is the brain. It connects all the electrical components, including the battery, LCD, motor, and sensors. It regulates power flow from the battery to the motor, controls speed, and ensures the efficient operation of the electric drivetrain. It enables smooth acceleration, regenerative braking, and precise motor control.
Charging System
The charging system of an electric bike converts electricity into a usable form and stores it in the battery, which then powers the bike’s electrical components like lights and the dashboard. Revolt electric bikes feature a portable battery and charger, allowing users to charge the battery conveniently at home. Additionally, Revolt offers a fast charger that charges the battery from 0-80% in just 80 minutes. A charging point is also provided for those who wish to charge at an electric bike charging station.
Regenerative Braking System
Regenerative braking systems allow electric bikes to recover kinetic energy lost during braking and convert it into electrical energy, which is stored in the battery. While not all electric bikes have regenerative braking, Revolt electric bikes are equipped with this feature for enhanced efficiency.
Frame and Suspension
The frame supports all components of an electric bike, while the suspension ensures ride comfort and stability. Modern electric bikes use lightweight materials like aluminum or carbon fiber for better efficiency. There are two types of suspension: mono-shock suspension (single shock absorber) and dual-shock suspension. Revolt electric bikes provide both—mono-shock suspension for premium models like RV400 and BRZ, and dual-shock suspension for commuter models like RV1, RV1+, and RV BlazeX. Riders can adjust the suspension to their comfort.
Braking System
A reliable and efficient braking system is essential for a smooth and safe riding experience. Electric bikes typically use either ABS (Anti-lock Braking System) or CBS (Combined Braking System). CBS is preferred for daily commuting and on-road riding as it ensures balanced and consistent braking for urban and highway environments. In contrast, ABS is ideal for off-road adventures as it provides superior control, making it suitable for challenging terrains.
Display Panel
A digital display panel provides essential information such as speed, battery level, range, clock, and ride modes. Revolt motorcycles come with a 6-inch LCD display that presents all necessary details on the screen.
